       Dr. Stevenson is pleased to offer his patients AcceleDent which is a medical device used for accelerating tooth movement.  It is a device that is held in the mouth for twenty minutes a day.  It creates a calming stimulation by the use of vibration.  This stimulation aids in bone remodeling.  Bone remodeling is how teeth move through bone.

      Vibration of the bone has been studied since the mid-1980’s to heal bone fractures and to treat osteoporosis.  This procedure has been used to increase the rate of fracture healing and bone density in long  bones.  Now it is available for orthodontic use.
